Eyeblack Odyssey argues that college football is good. In honor of that thought, I’ll be posting a series of daily blog entries that celebrate the good in the sport. I have no idea how far I’ll take this, but for now, let us all bask in the awesome.
Let us all bask in … Bloody head-butters
The story of Louisiana-Lafayette’s dramatic win in the New Orleans Bowl has pretty much everything you could want. It has been told before, but the highlights and such are below for your watching pleasure.
(This is worth a watch if only to enjoy the fan who makes an appearance at the 2:40 mark.)
What the video doesn’t touch on (besides the pregame Oklahoma drills … yet another reason college football is good) was strength and conditioning coach Rusty Whitt standing on the sidelines all game covered in blood gushing from his forehead thanks to a head-butting mishap.
A photo of the aftermath is here.
Ridiculous, yet sublime.
