Hey all, here’s another update from my work sphere, as I’ve produced a few thing for Southern Weekend over the past few weeks. Leading off is this fun video about a cool New Orleans haunted house we take the kids to visit every year now.

I don’t want to labor under too much stress trying to link my latest two work videos together with one another. The point is that they’re both out there, not so much that they have anything in common with one another.
I’m leading with Drag Queen Story Time because I’m particularly proud of it. It’s an interesting story, told in the form of an engaging interview, and I’m happy with how it turned out.
Some work-related stuff here for the foodies out there: First off, check out this video on one of the best sandwiches in existence, the Cochon de Lait po-boy, popularized at Jazz Fest.

So I shot and produced these two videos with Pizza Delicious recently. For the uninitiated, Pizza “D” is often one of the first places mentioned when talking about good pizza in New Orleans. The owners have their roots in New York and set about making pies and slices that reminded them of home.
It occurred to me recently that I had neglected to share this video on my blog, and since it’s not exactly Christmas-related, I thought it prudent to give it its own post.

Pretty happy with how these both turned out. First up is a video on the holiday display at the Roosevelt which is an important piece of the Christmas tapestry in New Orleans.
Beignets are lovely.
That’s my stance, and I’m sticking to it.
I think the tendency for New Orleans residents is to reject “touristy” spots, and that’s fine to a point. When your opinion becomes invalidated due to overwhelming evidence to the contrary, I don’t know that trying to cling to the notion of “touristy = bad” is going to do anyone a whole heck of a lot of good.
Though on second thought, if it keeps the crowds/lines a bit lighter, I’m for it. (More for me!)

Parkway has quickly become my go-to spot for po-boys in the city. Oh, I wouldn’t limit myself to them at the expense of all others, but they make a mean sandwich.
I produced this video for NOLA Weekend on Parkway’s special Thanksgiving po-boy, only available Wednesdays in November. It is appointment eating, so make the effort if the idea intrigues you (I recommend mid-afternoon … after the huge lines, but before they run out).
