It’s another WhoDatJedi podcast, and on this week’s show, we take our first stab at “The Rise of Skywalker,” the final chapter in the 9-episode Star Wars Skywalker saga.
This movie no doubt will inspire a great deal of discussion in the coming weeks, but for this episode, we tried to examine the general response of fans — which seems to be highly polarized — and get at why some folks feel so strongly about this movie.
Here’s the episode synopsis:
Your hosts — Aaron Svoboda (@Aaron_Svoboda), Alfredo Narvaez (@NOLA_Fredo) and David Gladow (@davegladow) — do their first deep dive on Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. For this first discussion, they talk about how polarized opinions seem to be about the movie and why that might be. Why did the people who loved it love it so much, and why did others react SO negatively? Are there objective criticisms that have merit? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the movie? Could problems have been fixed? And is it okay to simply like the movie and neither love nor hate it?
